More than 20,000 Tourists Visit Mondulkiri for New Year 2024

MONDULKIRI: More than 20,000 tourists visited Mondulkiri Province to celebrate the New Year.

 The Mondulkiri provincial authorities organized many public events and concerts in the Sen Monorom Park, located in Mondulkiri’s only city.

director of the Mondulkiri Department of Tourism Seang Soeun said that over the weekend, a total of 20,849 tourists visited Mondulkiri, a year-to-year increase of 21.78%. The vast majority of visitors were domestic, although 145 international tourists were reported.

Seang Soeun confirmed that tourists visited all hotspots, including the sea forest, Dos Kramom mountain, Bou Sra waterfall, Nam Lea mountains, O’Play waterfall, On’Doung Sneh mountains, and many other tourist attractions.

He said that there was better security and order this New Year’s because the provincial authorities organized patrols at the main attractions, resorts and entertainment venues throughout Mondulkiri Province. The Mondulkiri provincial administration also organized more lighting in public areas, as well as concerts and fireworks to make the event more festive.

He said that tourists who come to visit Mondulkiri expressed their happiness and surprise at the cold weather over the weekend.

Mondulkiri provincial authorities have requested national and international tourists who visit the province to help promote the potential of tourism and unite to clean up the environment.
